Unfinished Projects

Do you have unfinished projects lying around the house staring you in the face daring you to finish them? They seem to be everywhere in my house. They mainly include sewing projects that I buy the fabric, patterns and then the kids outgrow the pattern or the design before I get it made.

I unfinish other things as well. The kids bring things to me to do for them and somehow I never get to them. Daughter#2 brought me several pieces of fabric several years ago. I made all but one piece up. Why I didn't go ahead and do the last one, I don't know, but it's there in a bag waiting patiently.

I have a quilt that I was going to quilt by hand. Did I? Started it, but never finished it. I need to take it to the quilt lady and let her do it on her machine. But then I'd have to check that one off my list.

But once in a while, I do finish something. I bought a kit to crochet a butterfly before my now one year old granddaughter was born. I wanted to make it and frame it for her wall. I remember hitting a spot that I couldn't seem to figure out, and as a result I pitched it aside. I had the body done and part of one wing when I gave up on it. A week or so ago, I ran across it and thought it would be nice to have it finished by the time they get ready to move into the new house. I have just about finished it. I've got to find a needle with a huge eye to do the sewing on it and then I'll post some pictures. It turned our really pretty, if I do say so myself.

It's ecru and I think will be very pretty in her room. I was going to have it matted on lavendar since that is the color her room was, but now I'm glad I didn't finish it. The contractor(aka the little princesses daddy)says her room can't be lavendar this time.

I've decided to have it pressed between two pieces of clear glass and then put a frame around it. That way it won't be glued to a matboard, and it will match any color she has her room. When I get if finished, before I have it matted, I'll take some pitures. It is really pretty.

My next project is knitting socks. I started working on one last night. I've never done anything like this before, so I'll probably never have two that are the same size. And then again, this project may fall into the unfinished bin with all those others.

Tell me about your unfinished projects. You know how nosey I am.

Have a great Monday. Do something silly. Make someone laugh.

I have SO MANY unfinished projects - but I really hope to finish some of them this year! :-) I have a whole basket full of crafts . . . half done. Oh well.

Somewhere is a cross stitch project that I started for my brother's wedding present. And he's been married for 15 years. HAHAHAHAHAHA

:-)

I bought fabric to make crib bumpers for my oldest granddaughter. She turned 22 YEARS old in March!

When we sold our hour two years ago to live in an RV and travel, I gave several kits, some started, some brand new, to the thrift shop. Maybe someone finished up the projects!

I had made a flannel quilt for my son in Alaska and had it machine quilted. I just picked it up so now I can put on the binding and bring it up to Alaska this fall when we go to visit. (hopefully) So that project is almost done.

Have a blessed day!

I'm making a blanket for the camper out of some sweatshirts that advertise a company my husband used to work for. I set it aside because it hurt to cut the really thick sweatshirt fabric and my neighbor thought she had a rotary cutter I could borrow. Well, she couldn't find it, but I haven't resumed cutting it "the hard way."

And that is just one of the unfinished projects. I could think of many more if I thought about it hard enough. :)

Have to say I have a few unfinished projects, and I bet a few I have forgotten about. You know I should make a list so I know what I have to do.

I think Marge wins the prize, lol. I too start things and never get around to finishing them. Lately I've not been able to concentrate, not even reading which I love to do. I've got three books started at once and still haven't finished them. I hope you had a good day. Thanks for always making me feel so good with your comments on my blog.

My unfinished project is this stupid garage. I have got to get it unpacked and cleaned up so we can live a normal life. I think living here for nearly a year we should be further along than we are. We have decided to add on to this little house and then maybe I will feel a little more settled. I can have some of my special things here with me instead of in storage. So someday we might get this project done! We will see.
