And If For Any Reason The Queen Cannot Fulfill Her Duties!

Our little Princess #2 became First Alterate in the Ms Bearcat pageant at her school. We are very proud of her. We were concerned that she might decide she didn't want to participate at the last minute. But she was so excited, and kept assuring us that she knew exactly what to do, and she did. She walked, did her turns perfectly, smiled at the judges and did a great job.
The people behind me kept saying,'you can tell she's been in pageants before', and when it was over they said they had her picked to win. While my head was growing bigger with each comment, I kept quiet and listened. This was her first and probably only pageant. Her mom isn't into that sort of thing, and it can get pretty expensive. There isn't anyone in our family that has the kind of money it takes to do this sort of thing. We were just surprised at how well she 'performed' and that she participated.

When we got home, we were talking about the pageant, and we were saying the little thing about if the queen can't fulfill her duties(what duties?), then first alternate would step in. My daughter(her mother)said, there's always the possibility that a playboy photoshoot could show up and cause her to lose her crown. At 5 years old, I don't think there is much chance, but the main thing is that P#2 had a good time, and she was perfectly happy with her sash, trophy and gift bag.
I hope you had a great weekend and are planning to have a good week ahead. Pray for people who are in pain. Love one another.

My dear, that isn't the pageant dress you were working on is it? It is beautiful! We need to see a close up!

that is very sweet. she will have memories of that event the rest of her life. I did it one time also, no more than once did I need to do it. it was fun, scarey, and all that jazz, but it is something I still remember 100 years later. I am so glad she was blessed enough to experience it at least once. What a winner she is, no matter what the judges say!
