April Fool's Day and a Funny

I love to play tricks on the people I love. Actually, I'd play tricks on strangers if I thought I wouldn't get shot. The only problem is, I'm not good at it. I don't have a poker face. I can't tell you some big elaborate story without getting tickled. And I usually get the whole thing mixed up and it ends up not being funny to anyone.

So, I guess I'll pass on the jokes today and just try to behave myself(no comments from children).

But let me tell you a couple of things I have managed to pull off. You may not see the humor in them, but we thought they were funny at the time.

On our boss's birthday one year, we ordered a cake, but we all called in that morning. Some of us began calling the afternoon before for a day's vacation, then some called in that morning saying they were not feeling well. As we sneaked into the office, we could hear her on the phone telling someone she had to cover everything that day because everyone had called in. While she was still on the phone we all yelled happy birthday.

Then one year for my friend's 50th birthday, I took her eighth grade school picture and enlarged it almost an 8x10, and made a wanted poster out of it. I put up about 40 around town and one near her house. When I went by later in the day, she had gotten out and gathered them all up. But she wasn't mad. She thought it was funny. I had put wanted in big letters at the top, and at the bottom something about birthday wishes for this 50 year old.

If you've played a joke on someone, tell me about it. I love to laugh at someone else's expense.

Have a great Wednesday. Pray for our country. Love one another.

I remember one year a very dear friend was having a special birthday. A bunch of the church ladies "kidnapped" her right out of her bed (helped by her husband!) and we drove around town with her in a nightgown, robe and bindfolded. Went went to the grocery store and had to buy a few things, and now I can't remember where all we took her. But we ended up at a breakfast place like IHOP and we took her in where in the back room tons of her friends and family was all waiting on her. She was showered with gifts and love. She had a blast, she loved the attention shown by everyone...it was a very good day.

And I think your jokes are wonderful too. I love everyone calling in on the person's birthday and then everyone showing up. That was REALLY creative!!! I might have to remember that one myself for future references. Thanks!
