Update on Tragedy

This is a difficult post. We had all hoped for a miracle, but none has appeared. It is my understanding that two extesive tests have been conducted, and there is no brain activity for little Addison.

Her maternal grandparents have arrived from their home in California and are helping her parents deal with this horrible situation.

What that will be, I do not know at this time. My information comes third hand through different sources, so I don't immediately know what is transpiring.

Please continue to pray for these families who are directly involved. That includes the family of the little girl, the family of the day care facility, the family whose pool was involved, and all the families of the children who were staying at the daycare.

The daycare will be closed until the investigation is complete and may never re-open. One of the churches in the community will open its doors to care for those children who now need a place to stay, until other arrangements can be made.

These things happen to other people in other places, not here in small town America. We don't have high crime, we are comfortable in our small cocoon. We usually hear or read about this type of thing somewhere else, and make judgments about who should be at fault, who should be held accountable, but in this case, since we know everyone involved, we realize that bad things happen to good people and there are few explanations--just that these good people will forever be changed. They will live with this tragedy for the rest of their lives. There will probably never be a day go by they don't ask why this family, why these people, why this community/

May the grace of God help us all to deal with this.

Have a good Sunday. Love one another.

So sad and difficult for everyone - but especially the parents.

I pray that the doctors are wrong, and a miracle will happen.

Oh I am so deeply sorry your community in suffering through this. This is such a tragedy and it is an ACCIDENT. Yet understand that the stages of grief often include blame and anger. This will be so difficult, this is such a horrible ordeal and my heart just aches for everyone involved in that family, all the families.
My called and told me that Saturday night they lost their young pastor to a stroke. He leaves behind three beautiful daughters and a grieving wife. He is too young to have been taken by this silent killer, yet we never know why these things happen.

It sure has touched my heart, both of these stories, so I hope that everyone grieving will find strength in God, in their faith and will find some sort of happiness with time.
