I was reading this morning on The Cotton Wife's blog(http://thecottonwife.com ) that some obviously misguided magazine editor made the comment that she wrote too much about her children. Duh! Evidently this editor doesn't understand the reason for blogs. In my opinion, if you are writing a blog to hone your skills, you are probably in the wrong place. I think this is the place you share your small corner of the world with other people and learn about theirs.

I have made lots of new friends in this blog community, hopefully encouraged some folks and talked endlessly about my children and grandchildren and read about others. If anyone thinks I talk too much about my family, close my blog, remove it from your favorites list, and move on with your life. I probably won't know about it, and I very possibly won't care much.

I started my blog to keep a record of the things my grandchildren did, and my thoughts for two reasons. When I get old and senile, I can look back at my blog and be reminded of things, and in between wiping drool from my face, my grandchildren can read about the thoughts and feelings I had for them. I'm a firm believer that my grandchildren should have wonderful memories of me, not just the shell that sits in a chair playing with a sock monkey and calling it baby.

Of course there's also the possibility my children may use it against me in a sanity hearing when they decide they want all my money. I guess I should give that some thought as well.

Why did you start your blog?

I hope you are planning a great weekend. Pray for misguided people. Love one another.

Hi Meemaw, glad you are enjoying your blog. You entered a giveaway contest on my blog but are coming up as a no-reply so I cannot respond to your email. So please check your settings or email me privately--I'd be sad if you won and I couldn't tell you!

You are too sweet!

I felt sorry for that poor old grump. And lucky I was in a position (unlike the people who work for him probably) to mentally tell him to shove it! :)

started mine to be able to go back later and deal with all i coudl not deal with at the time... since then it is my place to vent, my place to share my grandson with my dad and step mom and a place to put all I so desire and I so agree if someone does not like it if it is not gramitically and spellingly correct, and that bothers the reader leave... I doubt i will notice. LOL...
Love your blog and adventures by the way :)

I started my blog when we retired and started to do some traveling. I wanted to be able to keep our kids and grandkids informed of our doings, and I wanted to be able to look back when I'm ancient and read about our travels. Keep writing and don't change a thing!

Haha! Just found your blog, you are a funny lady lady! Love that!! Look forward to following!

And I totally agree. I love writting about my little ones and reading about others. Life is about people...we need people and people need us! Too many individuals forget that!

Guess he forgot he was a kid at one time, huh?
I've been at this blog thing for so long, I forget why I started it. LOL

I also wanted to write for my children (and hopefully grandchildren in the future :)... I miss my grandparents every day, and cherish every memory they gave me - I feel sorry for anyone that doesn't understand how amazing blogs about family and friends are!
